Lost and Found Pets
Each year, thousands of lost and abandoned pets are taken in by shelters and humane societies across North America. At Caledon Animal Services, we help reconnect lost pets with their owners.
If your pet has gone missing or you've found a stray animal, please complete our online form.
Lost pets
If your pet has gone missing, please notify Animal Services by completing the online form above and ensure to include a picture of your pet. Staff will review your lost report and contact you if the shelter has any animals matching your pet's description.
After you've completed the online form, try these additional tips to locate your lost pet:
- Search around your home, yard and neighbourhood
- Ask your neighbours if they've seen your pet
- Contact local veterinary clinics and animal shelters in neighbouring communities
- Spread the word about your lost pet on social media
- Put up posters in your neighbourhood, at veterinary clinics and at our shelter
- Register your pet with Pet FBI
If you find your lost pet, please remember to let us know by calling 905.584.2272 x. 4698 and remove any lost pet flyers
Retrieval fees
If your dog is brought in or picked up by Animal Services and returned to you, the following fees may apply:
- $100 if the dog does not have up to date identification
- $25 with valid identification (first time)
- $50 with valid identification (each subsequent retrieval)
- $20 for each day the dog is impounded (excluding the first day)
If your dog was quarantined at the shelter, the following fees may apply:
- $59 for the first day of quarantine
- $23 for each additional day of quarantine
If we picked up your lost dog outside of regular business hours, and additional $80 to retrieve your pet is added.
Found pets
If you find a stray pet in your community, start by completing the online form above and contact Animal Services at 905.584.2272 x. 4698 so that arrangements can be made to have the animal delivered to the shelter located at 12889 Coleraine Dr. in Bolton as soon as possible. We will work to identify the animal, check our records and reports and return it to its owner as quickly as possible.
