Skating Lessons

Lessons will be offered once, weekly. Offerings vary by facility. 

Locations:

  • Albion Bolton Community Centre
  • Caledon East Community Complex
  • Lloyd Wilson Centennial Arena
  • Mayfield Recreation Complex

Programs:

  • Group Lessons - Skating (levels Preschool 1-3, Youth 1-2)
  • Low-Ratio Lessons - Skating (2 participants per class, level dependent)
  • Private Lessons - Skating (Preschool 1-3, Youth 1-2 and Adult)
  • Hockey Skills and Drills

 

 Helmets

Participant must wear properly fastened CSA approved hockey helmet and skates.

  • If your child does not have a CSA approved hockey helmet they will not be allowed on the ice. Participants are strongly recommended to wear full lexan/acrylic face shield (e.g. Bauer full face shield).
  • Bicycle, multi-sport and snowboarding/skiing helmets are not permitted.  
 Clothing and Helpful Tips
All Learn to Skate participants are encouraged to:
  • Wear warm layers including snow pants, jacket and gloves
  • Sharpen their skate blades if they have not done so in a while (dull skates will make it difficult to skate)

 

Single Visit Skates

The Town of Caledon offers a variety of drop-in skates including:

  • Parent and Child Skate 
  • Public Skate (including, Adult 18+ and Adult 55+)
  • Shinny (including, Youth, Adult 18+, Adult 55+, and Women's)
  • Shinny - Stick and Puck (Parent and Child)

All drop-in programs will be moving to a walk-in, first come first-serve basis. It’s as simple as swiping your membership card at the scanning station or paying for your drop-in visit in-person

Skating lessons require pre-registration. All registrations must be completed online or by calling 905-584-2272 x.7327.

Withdrawals

Should you wish to fully withdraw from your registered program, please send your request to recreation@caledon.ca.

Alternatively, please contact Recreation Customer Service at 905-584-2272 x.7327 and we will be happy to assist.

Outdoor Rinks

Community Rinks - Town Maintained

The following town-maintained outdoor rinks are available, this season. These rinks do require cooperation of the weather to a certain extent, so please check back here for open/closed status.

Community Rinks - Volunteer Maintained

Community Rinks will be available once the weather is conducive to creating and managing the ice.
