Natural disasters may be beyond our control, but there are ways to reduce the risk and the impact of whatever emergency we may face, whether natural or human-induced.

Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is preparing for the “Home Safe Home” door-to-door program again this year to focus on home fire safety.  Don’t be alarmed if you see fire crews pull up to your house and a firefighter approach your door!  Chances are there isn’t an emergency, but rather, firefighters spreading the word on how to ensure you never have one.

“Paint a Picture” campaign promotes water conservation and tackles climate change

Caledon students and artists are once again issuing an artistic challenge to conserve water and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through ecoCaledon’s “Paint a Picture” campaign.

Spring is upon us, and, with grass and brush starting to dry out, it is very easy for fire to spread uncontrollably with the smallest breeze.  Nearly all grass fires spread quickly, igniting brush, trees and homes. 

Caledon Fire & Emergency Services encourages the public to use caution when burning. Unattended burning is the most common cause of grass fires.  Burning carelessly and improperly discarding cigarette butts also pose hazards.
