As daylight saving time ends, fire safety begins in Caledon

Clocks will fall back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, November 6 and Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is recommending that residents install new batteries in their smoke and carbon monoxide alarms when they change their clocks.

Ontario’s Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week runs from November 1 to 7, and Caledon Fire and Emergency Services reminds you to prevent carbon monoxide (CO) in your home by getting all fuel-burning appliances inspected annually.

Caledon’s Deputy Fire Chief, Operations, Darryl Bailey has been named Acting Fire Chief. This appointment follows the retirement announcement of Caledon’s Fire Chief, David Forfar.
