Council adopts Future Caledon Official Plan 

After thorough consultation with the public and community partners including 60 community engagement events, Council adopted the Town’s new Official Plan, “Future Caledon”. The new Official Plan lays out a detailed roadmap to help shape the future Caledon wants to see over the next 30 years. 

The Plan will direct services, land use and quality of life in our community across five focus areas:

Municipal Law Enforcement (MLE) Shift Schedule

Staff presented two options to increase coverage, improve response and establish a tiered response system at a Council Committee workshop on January 24, 2024.

Caledon to support changes to public notice legislation

Caledon Council voted to support a request to update the Province’ of Ontario's Legislation Act, 2006 to include digital publications for publication and notice requirements for provincial acts and regulations. The act currently requires newspapers in a print form to be used for notices. The amendment would help communities without a local print newspaper provide information to residents and meet the requirements of the act.

Special Council Review of Peel Official Plan

Following the Province’s reversal of decision on 12 Official Plans in Ontario, Council approved a request for modifications to the Peel Official Plan, in response to the Province’s request for comments. The modifications included mapping changes to the 2051 Urban Area of the Peel Official Plan.
