New Pedestrian Crossovers to Increase Safety in Community

As our communities grow, the Town of Caledon is committed to increasing pedestrian safety through the installation of two new pedestrian crossovers on Learmont Avenue at Benadir Avenue, and Twistleton Street in the Southfields community. To be installed this September, this new type of crossover has been approved for use in Ontario to help keep residents safe and is now appearing across Caledon and Peel Region.

Caledon artist Cory Trépanier is the newest inductee into Caledon’s Walk of Fame. The world renowned oil painter, filmmaker and explorer, known for his passionate portrayal of Canadian landscapes, joins the ranks of other distinguished Caledon inductees such as artist Daphne Lingwood, filmmaker Norman Jewison, writer Farley Mowat, builder Conn Smythe and the founders of the McMichael Canadian Collection in nearby Kleinburg, Robert and Signe McMichael.

Emergency preparedness starts with being able to quickly identify a property location for first responders. Farmers can now apply for a municipal number for any vacant farm field to help first responders find an address in the case of an emergency. This is a coordinated initiative by the Peel Federation of Agriculture, Ontario Federation of Agriculture and The Town of Caledon.
