The Town of Caledon has released its Annual Report, highlighting important accomplishments in 2016, including fiscal accountability, an effective corporate reorganization, and progressive, strategic planning – all of which has positioned Caledon as a financially stable municipality that is focused on community building and planning proactively for its future.

Exercise caution: Prevent grass fires

Spring is upon us, and, with grass and brush starting to dry out, it is very easy for fire to spread uncontrollably with the smallest breeze.  Nearly all grass fires spread quickly, igniting brush, trees and homes. 

Caledon Fire & Emergency Services encourages the public to use caution when burning. Unattended burning is the most common cause of grass fires.  Burning carelessly and improperly discarding cigarette butts also pose hazards.

Caledon installs new Electric Vehicle charging stations

With funding from the Ontario Electric Vehicle Chargers Ontario (EVCO) program, the Town of Caledon recently installed two additional electric vehicle (EV) charging stations: one at Margaret Dunn Library and the other at the Albion Bolton Community Centre. Known as Level Three charging stations, these ‘Fast Chargers’ have the ability to charge an electric vehicle battery up to 80% within 30 minutes.

Passing of Volunteer Firefighter

Municipal flags at Caledon Town Hall and all municipal buildings are being flown at half-mast in honour of the sudden passing of Volunteer Firefighter, Glen Bracken. 

Caledon Council and staff are deeply saddened by his passing.  Our thoughts and prayers are with the Caledon Fire and Emergency Services Team, especially Glen’s father, Al Bracken, former Chief Fire Prevention Officer (retired) and Glen’s brother, Captain Mike Bracken, volunteer firefighter.  Heartfelt condolences go out...

Lazaridis School of Business to survey Caledon residents
