When clocks spring forward, change batteries in smoke and carbon monoxide alarms

March 9, 2023 – Clocks will spring forward one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, March 12 and Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is recommending residents Check the Power when they Change the Hour.
Take the opportunity on Sunday to check all smoke and carbon monoxide alarms. All alarms need to be replaced after 10 years, even those hardwired into your home. Check the expiry date, install new batteries, and push the test button to make sure they are working.

March 6, 2023 – Town of Caledon is seeing an increase in situations where roads and customer service staff are being harassed, abused and assaulted while working. This weekend there were multiple incidents, in one case the OPP was contacted.

March 3, 2023 – The Town of Caledon has successfully prosecuted illegal trucking operator, 12501058 Canada Inc., resulting in a $45,000 fine and a prohibition order.
On February 16, 2023, after another attempt to delay the hearing was denied, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice heard the trial. In exchange for a guilty plea, the prosecution offered a reduced charge of $25,000.
