Fireworks: A reminder

With Victoria Day celebrations fast approaching, Caledon Fire and Emergency Services remind retailers and homeowners that there are responsibilities when it comes to selling, purchasing and setting off fireworks. The goal is to ensure holiday celebrations can be enjoyed safely by everyone.
Selling
Retailers can only sell fireworks during the ten (10) days prior to Victoria Day, starting May 12, 2017. All retailers must purchase a permit from Caledon Fire and Emergency Services at a cost of $179.00....

A grade 2 class from Southfields Village Public School is the winner of the Town of Caledon Climate Change Video Contest.
In recognition of Earth Day (April 22, 2017), the Town of Caledon invited all local schools (K1 to Grade 12) to participate in its Climate Change School Video Contest. Schools were asked to create a video showcasing their ideas about how the community can reduce the production of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) in Caledon.

Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is preparing for the “Home Safe Home” door-to-door program again this year to focus on home fire safety. Don’t be alarmed if you see fire crews pull up to your house and a firefighter approach your door! Chances are there isn’t an emergency, but rather, firefighters spreading the word on how to ensure you never have one.

Caledon students and artists are once again issuing an artistic challenge to conserve water and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through ecoCaledon’s “Paint a Picture” campaign.
