Caledon successful in prosecuting illegal trucking operator

March 3, 2023 – The Town of Caledon has successfully prosecuted illegal trucking operator, 12501058 Canada Inc., resulting in a $45,000 fine and a prohibition order.

On February 16, 2023, after another attempt to delay the hearing was denied, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice heard the trial. In exchange for a guilty plea, the prosecution offered a reduced charge of $25,000. The Town of Caledon has initiated a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) to look into structural improvements to existing bridge structures located on Patterson Side Road and Duffy's Lane.

February 24, 2023 – Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is partnering with Age-Friendly Caledon to ensure older adults are living in a fire-safe environment and are prepared in the event of a fire.
