Statement on the passing of Councillor Jim Tovey

On behalf of the Town of Caledon, Mayor Allan Thompson today paid tribute to the memory of Mississauga and Region of Peel Councillor Jim Tovey, who passed away suddenly January 15, 2018.
“Jim Tovey valued and respected staff at the City and the Region,” Mayor Thompson said, “He loved collaboration and being a part of something bigger than himself. Mississauga has lost a champion and Caledon has lost a friend.”

The Town of Caledon Council approved the 2018 Budget during the Town Council meeting on December 12, 2017, which focuses on providing pivotal community infrastructure and services while keeping tax increases reasonable for Caledon residents and businesses.

Town of Caledon offices, facilities and non-emergency services will be closed Monday, October 9, 2017 for Thanksgiving Day and will reopen Tuesday, October 10, 2017.
The following is a list of facility closures:
- All libraries
- All recreation facilities
- Animal Shelter
- POA Court (Provincial Offences at Town Hall and at Zina Street Court House in Orangeville)
- Town Hall
- Caledon Fire and Emergency Service – Headquarters
