Caledon to celebrate Humber River Centre Grand Opening

CALEDON, ON (January 29, 2024) – The Town of Caledon will be holding a Grand Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., to commemorate the opening of the Humber River Centre (HRC).

Grand Opening activities

  • 11 a.m. Ribbon cutting ceremony – Join Mayor Groves, members of Council and dignitaries as they formally open the HRC with a ribbon cutting and remarks.
  • 12 p.m. – 2 p.m. Guided tours – Join a tour led by Town staff to learn more about the HRC’s programs and services...

Town of Caledon hosting interactive mobile museum in recognition of Black History Month

CALEDON, ON (January 29, 2024) – In honour of Black History Month, the Town of Caledon is pleased to present an interactive mobile museum hosted by the Canadian Multicultural Inventors Museum. The mobile museum will feature innovators of African descent and a range of African inventions, including the window cleaner, the eggbeater, the space shuttle retrieval, and more.

Residents are encouraged to visit the interactive mobile museum on display from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. at the following locations...

Remembering Famed Canadian Filmmaker Norman Jewison: A Caledon Icon Passes at 97

January 24, 2024 – The Town of Caledon is deeply saddened at the passing of renowned Canadian film director Norman Jewison over the weekend at the age of 97. A member of our community, Mr. Jewison enjoyed time at his 200-acre farm in Caledon when not engaged in his work in Los Angeles. In 1999, Caledon proudly recognized his contributions by honoring him as the inaugural inductee on Caledon's Walk of Fame.
