Saving Energy at Home

The Home Energy Retrofit Program was created to help homeowners in Caledon, Mississauga and Brampton to conserve energy, lower annual energy expenses and reduce greenhouse gas emissions. As part of the Resilient Caledon Action Plan, there is a target for all homes, institutions, and commercial buildings to achieve net-zero emissions by 2040.

About the Home Retrofit Program

The Home Energy Retrofit program offers residents in the Peel region the opportunity to receive free expert energy coaching through phone or video consultations. During these sessions, residents can share their goals and receive tailored advice to improve their home's energy efficiency. The Energy Coach can assist with everything from simple DIY tips to more complex energy-saving solutions.

The Home Retrofit Program offers numerous benefits, including:

  • Improved comfort and health
  • Lower energy bills
  • Increased home value

The virtual assistance begins with an easy online signup through a One-Stop-Window, where the Energy Coach and the participant will explore options during this free session. Participants will receive information about contractor resources, rebates, and financial incentives. Recommendations for effective energy-saving installations will be provided, delivering savings on utility bills, greater indoor comfort, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions.
