Caledon Major Transit Station Areas Study
The lands in and around Caledon’s two major transit station areas were studied as part of the Town’s ongoing official plan review. The study is attached to the report recommending adoption of the Future Caledon Official Plan on the March 19, 2024, Planning and Development Committee agenda.
Major transit station areas are to be planned and developed as high-density, mixed-use neighbourhoods that support transit ridership. This allows people to access public transit quickly and conveniently from the places they live, work, learn, shop and play.

Background |
The Province of Ontario and Region of Peel set requirements for major transit station areas that must be included in Caledon’s official plan. The Town enacted an interim control by-law to temporarily stop development on certain lands in and around the two major transit station areas to allow for the Major Transit Station Areas Study to be done.
