Caledon announces new Chief Human Resources Officer

December 11, 2023 (Caledon, ON) – The Town of Caledon is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Tarnvir Grewal, CHRL as Chief Human Resources Officer.

Having served as the Manager of People Services for the Town, Ms. Grewal brings a wealth of expertise in human resources and labour relations, cultivated over her time here with Caledon and further honed through prior roles with the City of Guelph and the City of Estevan in Saskatchewan.

The strategic decision to appoint Ms. Grewal to this pivotal role underscores Caledon's dedication to assembling a high-caliber leadership team. “I’m delighted to welcome Tarnvir to her new role as Chief Human Resources Officer with the Town of Caledon. We are committed to building a first-class leadership team,” said CAO Nathan Hyde. “Welcoming someone of such high skill and capability into a key position, particularly when they come from within the organization, is truly fantastic.”

Ms. Grewal's selection is marked not only by her extensive work experience but also by her commendable educational background, with credentials that include a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a Master's in Industrial Relations, a Certificate in Labour Relations, and professional recognition as a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL).

In her role as Chief Human Resources Officer, Ms. Grewal will oversee Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI); Employee & Labour Relations; Health and Safety; Organizational and Cultural Design; and Payroll. Having Ms. Grewal in this capacity will ensure that Caledon it is well equipped to deal with human resources and labor challenges as we tackle the anticipated growth in the years ahead.

Ms. Grewal is set to commence her new role with the Town of Caledon on Thursday, December 14, 2023.
