Caledon announces new Director of Municipal Law Enforcement
CALEDON, ON (November 27, 2023) – The Town of Caledon is delighted to share news of the appointment of Mr. Jagdeep (Jack) Hunjan as the incoming Director of Municipal Law Enforcement. Bringing over 30 years of valuable law enforcement experience from his distinguished career with the Ontario Provincial Police (O.P.P.), Mr. Hunjan's extensive background includes a notable 12-year service in Caledon. Currently serving as the Detachment Manager at the O.P.P.'s Mississauga Detachment, he has also held leadership roles at the Toronto and Wellington County detachments.
Expressing enthusiasm about the new addition to the team, Catherine McLean, Commissioner of Community and Human Services, remarked, "I am pleased to welcome Jack to our team. His community policing philosophy, coupled with strong leadership skills, positions him as an ideal candidate for this role. Jack's readiness for current and future challenges, particularly as we transition into a single-tier municipality, aligns with his commitment to working collaboratively with the community through education, resolution and compliance. I am eager to collaborate with Jack on these initiatives."
As the Director of Municipal Law Enforcement, Mr. Hunjan will lead the enforcement team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality enforcement services in alignment with municipal bylaws, regulations, and policies. With Caledon transitioning into a single-tier municipality, a primary focus for the team will be to inform and engage community members in upholding municipal standards.
The Town looks forward to leveraging his expertise and collaborative approach to foster a community that is well-informed and actively participates in maintaining our municipal standards. Mr. Hunjan is set to commence his new role with the Town on Monday, January 8, 2024.
