Caledon Day chosen as a 2024 Top 100 award winner by Festivals and Events Ontario

March 1, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – In an exciting announcement on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, Caledon Day received prestigious recognition from Festivals and Events Ontario (FEO) as one of the Top 100 festivals and events across the province.

Following its triumphant return in 2023, drawing an impressive crowd of over 12,000 attendees, Caledon Day reclaimed its spot as the highlight of the community calendar. Held at the newly renovated Caledon East Community Complex, the event boasted enhanced features, expanded programming, and increased opportunities for community engagement.

“Caledon is proud to host Caledon Day annually, giving our community the opportunity to come together and celebrate, and this award acknowledges what we already knew – that Caledon Day is an amazing event,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “Holding this award-winning event is further proof of the Town’s commitment to community vitality and livability, offering programs, services and events that support a healthy, caring, engaged and inclusive community.”

As the largest community festival in Caledon, Caledon Day holds a special place in the hearts of residents and is proudly supported by the Town of Caledon. Festivals and events play a vital role in enhancing community vibrancy, promoting tourism, and stimulating economic growth. It is estimated that these events contribute over $2.3 billion to regional GDP, while also creating employment opportunities and generating revenue for various levels of government.

“This is an amazing achievement for the Town of Caledon to receive this 2024 Top 100 Award from the FEO,” said Catherine McLean, Commissioner of Community and Human Services. “This award recognizes the outstanding work our events team did planning the return of Caledon Day in 2023, and we’re all excited to see what our 2024 Caledon Day event has in store for our community.”

Being selected as a Top 100 Award Winner underscores the excellence of Caledon Day 2023 within the industry. With the highly anticipated Sam Roberts Band headlining the 2024 Caledon Day event on Saturday, June 15, 2024, attendees can expect an even more spectacular experience this year.

Caledon Day is a one-day community event taking place on the Saturday of Father’s Day weekend. Featuring a headlining musical act, local performers, vendors, food, a beer and cider zone, fireworks and much more. Caledon Day is the day our community of communities gathers to celebrate what makes Caledon such a unique place to live. The best of rural and urban life for everyone.
