Caledon Fire and Emergency Services welcomes new volunteer firefighter recruits
May 17, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – The Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services department welcomed 11 new volunteer firefighters to the team at a graduation ceremony held this evening at Station 302 in Bolton.
“After completing the mandatory 250 hours of training and achieving their level 1 and level 2 National Fire Protection Association 1001 certification, we’re extremely proud to welcome our new volunteer firefighters to Caledon Fire and Emergency Services,” said Fire Chief Dave Forfar. “These new recruits are not only joining our Caledon Fire team, they’re joining our family, and we look forward to working along side them as we continue to keep Caledon residents safe.”
The 11 new recruits have already been assigned to crews at eight of Caledon’s nine fire stations and will begin work immediately – on call and ready to respond to an emergency situation.
“Having well-trained and dedicated first responders is the most important part when providing emergency services to our residents,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “I’m happy to welcome these new recruits to the Town of Caledon and the Caledon Fire and Emergency Services team.”
