Caledon Fire Department launches Home Safe Home campaign
June 16, 2022 – Caledon Fire and Emergency Services is preparing for the “Home Safe Home” door-to-door campaign again this year to focus on home kitchen fire safety. Residents can expect to see fire crews in various neighbourhoods and firefighters knocking on doors.
Firefighters will be providing information on how to be fire safe and answering any questions you may have concerning fire safety in your home.
“The Town of Caledon supports the principle of preventing fires before they happen by taking a proactive approach and providing our residents with fire and life safety information. Our firefighters also do home visits to answer those fire-related questions and wish our residents a happy fire safe day,” said Fire Chief Dave Forfar. “We believe education is a key component of home fire safety and over the next several months Caledon firefighters will be delivering the message of being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to protecting yourself and your family against the tragedy of fire.”
Beginning June 20, 2022, and running through to October 14, 2022, Caledon firefighters will be visiting homes throughout Caledon on weekdays from 6:30-8 p.m. and on weekends from 1-3:30 p.m.
The focus of the safety campaign this year will be to educate homeowners on the importance of kitchen and cooking safety as well as having working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.
