Celebrating Caledon’s 2023 Senior of the Year
CALEDON, ON (June 20, 2023) – Today, Mayor and Council acknowledged Carol Seglins as the 2023 Senior of the Year at Council.
This award recognizes an outstanding senior who, after age 65, enriches the social, cultural or civic life of the community.
“I extend my sincerest congratulations to Carol on this recognition,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “It is active and involved members in the community, like Carol, that make Caledon a great place to work, live and play.”
About the 2023 Senior of the Year
Carol has called Caledon home for more than 50 years and remains an active member of the community.
Carol is President of the Humber Valley Trail Association where she spearheads maintenance initiatives, works closely with the Toronto Region Conservation Authority and promotes it to the broader community. Carol also serves as Director at the Albion Bolton Historical society and helps manage historical findings and artifacts, as well as planning events.
In her spare time, Carol volunteers and is a board member at the Caledon Senior Centre and Probus. Carol supports initiatives for the 55+ population by helping raise funds for much needed services. At Probus, Carol is a member of the program committee and helps organize speakers’ series, book clubs and outings for seniors in Caledon.
