Environmental Assessment: Chinguacousy Road

The Town of Caledon has initiated a Schedule ‘C’ Class Environmental Assessment Study for Chinguacousy Road from Mayfield Road to Old School Road. The Study will investigate options to improve road capacity, connectivity, safety, and operations to meet the future transportation demand due to continued growth in the Town of Caledon.

PROCESS

The Study will be conducted in accordance with the planning and design process for ‘Schedule C’ projects, as outlined in the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (EA) document, (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 & 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) will be held to discuss issues related to the study area, including alternative solutions, evaluation criteria, environmental impacts and mitigation measures. PIC dates and details will be advertised as the study progresses.

Upon completion of the study, an Environmental Study Report will be prepared and made available for public review and comment.

COMMENTS

Public participation will form an integral part of the Class EA Study to ensure that the ongoing concerns of the
public and affected groups within the study area are identified, documented, assessed and addressed. To be
