Fire safety top of mind during Carbon Monoxide Awareness Week
CALEDON, ON (October 28, 2024) – It is once again time to “Change the Hour, Check the Power” on Sunday, November 3, with the end of Daylight Savings Time. While setting your clocks 1 hour behind, Caledon Fire and Emergency Services remind you to test your smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) alarms and replace the batteries if necessary.
“Testing your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms regularly is a simple step that makes all the difference keeping your home safe,” said Fire Chief Dave Pelayo. “And remember, regardless of the power source, alarms should be replaced every 10 years for optimal safety.”
