Media Statement: Stella Crescent

 "Our hearts are breaking for the families of the Stella Crescent house fires. I can’t imagine how devastating it is to be displaced from your home, especially so close to the holidays. I want the families to know Caledon is here for you. Starting with our fire and emergency services crew who arrived in less than five minutes of the call and made sure everyone got out safely while gaining control of an intense fire. Fires like these spread so quickly, that without a swift response, the fire could have been so much worse. The fact that everyone got out safe is miraculous.

I know that all our community service partners including Caledon Community Services and the Red Cross will do everything they can to help the families impacted by the fire. I am confident, knowing Caledon residents as I do, that everyone will find ways to reach out and help the families the best way they can. We at the Town will work closely with those impacted to ensure they get the support they need. I would like to remind everyone to check their smoke alarms and have escape plans ready to ensure a safe holiday season as this is when house fires are most common."
