Mountainview Road Environmental Assessment
Update (July 24, 2019)
The Town of Caledon has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment for Mountainview Road between Old Base Line Road and Granite Stones Drive. (see attached completion notice).
Consultation with stakeholders (public and agencies) is a key component of the Class EA process and input was sought from various parties throughout the study. Two Public Information Centres (PICs) were held, the first on November 13, 2017 and the second on April 26, 2018.
An Environmental Study Report (ESR) has been prepared, which details the planning and design process, how public and agency input was addressed, and the preferred alternative, along with associated mitigation measures to address impacts, and next steps towards project implementation. The ESR will available for public review for a 30-day review period, from August 2, 2019 to September 2, 2019, on the Town's website (caledon.ca/notices) and at the following locations:

The Process
The study is being carried out in accordance with the requirements outlined in the Municipal Engineers Association (MEA) Municipal Class Environmental Assessment document (October 2000, as amended in 2007, 2011 & 2015), which is an approved process under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.
