New volunteer firefighter recruits join Caledon Fire and Emergency Services team
July 17, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – The Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services department welcomed 19 new volunteer firefighters to the team at a graduation ceremony held this evening at Station 302 in Bolton, the second graduating class of 2023.
“We are extremely proud to add more volunteer firefighters to our team. Not only are they joining the Caledon Fire and Emergency Services team, but they’re joining our family,” said Fire Chief Dave Forfar. “These new recruits have completed the mandatory training and achieved their level 1 and level 2 National Fire Protection Association 1001 certification, and we look forward to working alongside of them to keep our residents safe.”
The 19 new recruits have already been assigned to crews at six of Caledon’s nine fire stations and will begin work immediately – on call and ready to respond to an emergency situation.
“New volunteer firefighter recruits are always a welcome sight for the Town of Caledon and Caledon Fire and Emergency Services,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “Maintaining a steady stream of well-trained first responders is vital to ensuring we provide emergency services to our residents, and I’m pleased to welcome them to our team.”
