Nomination period opens for Caledon Civic Awards Program
November 15, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – The Town of Caledon is seeking nominations for the Civic Awards Program, an annual initiative that recognizes residents who have made a significant impact towards the development and advancement of recreational sports, arts, culture, environmental leadership or community and social services.
“This is the time of year for residents to come together and nominate someone they think deserves to be recognized for their efforts to better our community,” said Mayor Annette Groves. “I encourage residents to submit nominations for those people who strive to constantly improve Caledon, and who make this such a great place to live.”
The awards cover two broad categories:
- Volunteer Service Awards recognize Caledon residents whose efforts have made significant impact towards the development and advancement of recreational sports, arts and culture, environmental leadership or community and social services.
- Citizen Achievement Awards are designed to recognize Caledon residents who have competed or been recognized at the Provincial, National or International levels in the areas of sport and arts and culture. This category includes the Distinguished Citizen Award and the Community Champion Award.
The Community Recognition Task Force, comprised of five community volunteers with experience supporting initiatives in Caledon, will review and evaluate all nominees, and will recommend the winners to Town Council.
Civic Awards Program winners will be announced and celebrated at Caledon Day on Saturday, June 14, 2025.
