This is to inform you that the Town of Caledon has initiated an Official Plan Amendment to update its growth management policies. A statutory Public Meeting will be held to provide more information and an opportunity to ask questions with respect to the proposal.

Meeting Date: March 4, 2025

Public Meeting Start Time: 7:00 p.m.

Location: Council Chambers, 6311 Old Church Road, Caledon East

How to Participate:

The Town of Caledon offers a hybrid meeting model with multiple ways for members of the public to participate and engage with Council.

Attend In-Person
Members of the public may attend a meeting in-person and provide verbal comments regarding the proposed application(s) or sit in the gallery to watch the meeting. Although registration is not mandatory, members of the public are encouraged to complete the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council
Submit a written Comment
Members of the public may submit written comment regarding the proposed application(s) by completing the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council
Virtually
Members of the public are welcome to participate via telephone or video conference through WebEx upon request. For more information on how to participate, please complete the Participation Request Form, available at http://www.caledon.ca/speak-at-council. In addition, members of the public can watch meetings through the live stream available on the Town's website.

You can also ask questions or provide comments by:

  • Submitting written correspondence to agenda@caledon.ca and planning@caledon.ca for consideration during the Public Meeting. Please note that written comments will form part of the public record.
  • Contacting Planning staff or the Lead Planner during office hours by phone or email.

Location:        Town-Wide (The Amendment Applies to All Lands Within the Limits of the Town of Caledon)

Proposed Changes:

The Town has initiated a Town-Wide Official Plan Amendment to implement its 2024 Growth Management and Phasing Plan. The proposed Amendment includes growth management policy updates plus a new schedule related to growth phasing in the Future Caledon Official Plan. The proposed Amendment also includes policy updates to the Region of Peel Official Plan as it applies to the Town of Caledon with respect to growth management and phasing. The Amendment will be available as of February 11, 2025 at https://haveyoursaycaledon.ca/official-plan-review.
