Proposed Changes

The proposed Zoning By-law Amendment application would implement a federal Airport Zoning Regulation (AZR) to protect the safe operation and long-term viability of the Brampton Airport, which is located in Caledon.

The proposed AZR does not propose any new development or airport improvements. Rather, it proposes a regulation area surrounding the existing airport where regulations would apply to prohibit land uses that could pose hazards to aviation and set height limits on structures and natural growth (e.g., trees). The proposed regulation covers a 4km radius around the intersection of the airport’s runways, as shown on the map above.

To better understand how the proposed AZR would affect properties within the proposed regulation area, more information and an interactive mapping tool are available at www.caledon.ca/azr.
