A Public Meeting will be held to consider proposed Official Plan Amendment & Zoning By-law Amendment. Your input and insight will inform and shape plans that meet the needs of our community. Please be advised that the Town of Caledon is offering a Hybrid Committee and Council Meeting model with options for you to engage with Council, including in-person or virtual opportunities.

Proposed Changes
The applicant has submitted applications for an Official Plan Amendment and Zoning By-law Amendment to permit the development of a four-storey Apartment Building. The building will include 19 Apartment dwelling units with balconies, 27 surface parking spaces, 10 long-term bicycle parking spaces, 4 short-term bicycle parking spaces, landscape buffers and landscaped areas, and an internal circular 6 metre private lane accessed from Shore Street via two driveways. The Official Plan Amendment proposes to re-designate the lands from “Low Density Residential” to a “High Density Residential” with site-specific policies allowing for apartment building dwelling units. The Zoning By-law Amendment proposes to re-zone the lands from Residential One (R1) and Commercial – Exception 255 (C-255) to a site-specific Multiple Residential (RM-XX) Zone to allow a range of residential uses with site-specific zone standards.

Appeal Procedure |
If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Town of Caledon to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the By-laws are adopted and/or passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision. If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town of Caledon before the By-laws are adopted and/or passed, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Land Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so. |
