Town of Caledon Announces new Commissioner of Engineering, Public Works, and Transportation
April 24, 2024 (CALEDON) – The Town of Caledon announces Domenica D’Amico, P. Eng., as its new Commissioner of Engineering, Public Works, and Transportation. She will start on June 17, 2024.
As a member of the leadership team, D’Amico will direct the Town’s engineering, operations, facilities, and energy management/climate change business units, and she will provide oversight of the department’s multi-million dollar operating and capital budgets.
D’Amico brings more than 26 years of progressive, senior professional engineering experience at WSP, one of the world’s leading engineering and professional services firms, to her role as Commissioner. Most recently, she was the Director of the Ontario Roads team, where she oversaw the work of 35 professional engineers and technical staff on major municipal projects, including road design and contract administration. She also has extensive experience in environmental assessments, intelligent transportation systems and major highway interchange construction.
D’Amico is a talented people leader and expert project manager with a strong eye for cost containment. She earned a Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Toronto. D’Amico is also a Member of the Toronto Metropolitan University (TMU) Civil Engineering Advisory Council and served on the Board of Directors for the Association of Consulting Engineering Companies of Ontario (ACEC).
