Town of Caledon CAO announces staff changes to support future growth
With the approval of the 2023 Budget the leadership team at the Town of Caledon under the direction of Chief Administrative Officer Carey Herd, continues to move forward with improvements to enhance organizational excellence. To prepare for future growth, modernize services and better serve Caledon residents, the CAO is realigning some teams to ensure success.
Effective immediately, the Community Services Department will report to Catherine McLean, Director, Community Services. The Community Services department will now include Customer Service, Communications, Economic Development (Tourism and Culture), Recreation (programs and services) and Facilities (corporate and community centres).
The alignment of these teams is a natural progression of the work they are doing to support the community. Working together in a collaborative environment, they will focus on service delivery, community and business support consistently and efficiently.
In addition, the Parks Division will report to Antonietta Minichillo, Director, Planning/Chief Planner. The Planning department will now include Strategic Policy Planning, Development Planning, Parks and Natural Heritage. This reallocation of resources to our Planning team will better position staff to support our growth management model, our community and manage the impacts of Bill 23.
“I am confident in our team and believe these changes will enhance service delivery to residents and businesses across the Town of Caledon” says CAO Herd. “Realigning these teams better positions the municipality to prepare for future growth.”
In addition to the organizational changes the Town is pleased to announce that beginning March 13, 2023 Nathan Grundy will be joining the Town of Caledon as Chief of Staff to Mayor Groves.
Nathan will provide strategic advice and support relationships with external community groups and stakeholders to the Town of Caledon. He will work with various levels of government under the Mayor’s direction and be responsible for staffing in the Council office.
Nathan Grundy is an accomplished government and stakeholder relations leader, highly skilled in public policy and legislative affairs, with more than a decade of provincial and federal government experience. He is looking forward to serving Council the community and working with staff at the Town of Caledon.
