Town of Caledon enhancing public transportation in partnership with Brampton Transit

CALEDON, ON (May 1, 2024) – Today, the Town of Caledon, in partnership with Brampton Transit, announced the enhancement of public transportation in Caledon as Brampton Transit assumes operation of the Bolton Line bus route. This transfer of services will improve the route map and service hours, better serving our community and expanding transportation options for Caledon and Brampton residents.

The Bolton Line, now Brampton Transit Route #41, will operate along Highway 50 between Queen Street/Highway 7 in Brampton to Columbia Way/Bolton Heights in Caledon. The route will also service the employment lands along Coleraine Drive.

Brampton Transit is currently providing local transit services in Mayfield West, Southfields Village, Tullamore and on Dixie Road in Caledon.

Background

The Bolton route run by Brampton Transit will be partially funded on a cost recovery basis from the Town of Caledon’s Provincial Gas Tax Reserve. Fare revenue for boardings within Caledon will be credited to the Town and deducted from operating cost.
