The Town of Caledon’s Proposed 2024 Budget, aligning with the goals outlined in the 2023-2035 Strategic Plan, is now available on our website. Printed copies will be at Albion Bolton, Alton, Caledon East and Southfields Village Branch Libraries by the end of this week. This comprehensive budget reflects The Town’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life for both current and future residents, businesses, and visitors by focusing on key priorities that embody the unique blend of rural and urban living.

The 2024 Budget is a reflection of the Town’s dedication to responsible fiscal management and proactive planning. Crafted with input from the Town's Strategic Plan, this budget aims to address the evolving needs of our dynamic community.

Robert Cummings, Commissioner of Finance and Chief Financial Officer, shared his perspective about the proposed budget, stating, “We have developed a budget that not only meets the immediate needs of Caledon but also paves the way for a vibrant and sustainable future. I encourage residents to engage in the budget process, gain insights, and participate in our upcoming Budget Committee meeting.”

Highlights of the Proposed 2024 Budget include:

Operating Budget:

  • Caledon East Community Centre operating costs
  • Humber River Centre operating costs
  • Addition of five firefighters

Capital Budget:

  • Mayfield West Station 310 Land and Construction
  • Roads Rehabilitation Construction Program
  • Roads Engineering Design and Environmental Assessment
  • Bridge and Culvert Construction Program
  • Mill Street Reconstruction and Bridge Rehabilitation
  • Stormwater Management Program
  • Fleet Assets Replacement
  • Mayfield West 1 Southfields Community Park
