Town of Caledon recognized for environmental leadership
The Town of Caledon recently received multiple environmental leadership awards for municipal and corporate achievements in the areas of energy conservation, waste diversion and environmental performance. Town staff continue to update the facility Corporate Energy Management Plan, with a stronger focus on reducing corporate wide greenhouse gases. The new Corporate Greenhouse Gas Reduction Framework will inform and prioritize mitigation actions to help further decrease greenhouse gas emissions emitted by the Town over the period 2019-2024.
Additionally, the Town will update its Climate Change Action Plan in 2019/2020, pending budget approval, to support broader community efforts in reducing greenhouse gasses and adapt to the impacts associated with a warming climate.
