Caledon residents age 55+ can stay active and socialize indoors for free this fall and winter
October 26, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – Residents age 55+ are encouraged to stay active and socialize this fall and winter by taking advantage of Caledon’s new walking track and community room/lounge access program.
“The Town of Caledon is committed to offering access to these amenities to our 55+ residents as we continue to deliver on our Age-Friendly Caledon Action Plan,” said Catherine McLean, Commissioner of Community and Human Services. “Providing no-cost access to the walking tracks and community rooms helps support our community and encourages healthy mobility in our 55+ demographic, and we’re pleased to offer this program.”
Walking track access is free at both the Caledon Centre for Recreation and Wellness (CCRW) and Caledon East Community Complex (CECC) for residents 55+, under the following conditions:
- CCRW – Walking track usage is free with a Caledon Seniors Centre membership. Contact the Seniors Centre for more information.
- CECC – Walking track usage is free Monday to Friday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 8 p.m.
- To access the track outside of ‘free’ hours, paid admission or Walking Track membership is required.
Community room/lounge access is free, based on availability, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. from September to June at the following facilities:
- CCRW – 14111 Regional Road 50, Bolton (map)
- CECC – 6215 Old Church Road, Caledon East (map)
- Southfields Community Centre – 225 Dougall Avenue, Caledon (map)
