Have your say on the Town-Wide Design Guidelines by June 14

June 3, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – The Town of Caledon is updating the existing Town-Wide Design Guidelines (TWDG) to create a modern approach to development review that’s unique to Caledon. Help inform staff and the direction of the design guidelines by completing the survey www.haveyoursaycaledon.ca/designguidelines by Friday, June 14. 

The Town-Wide Design Guidelines provide comprehensive design, landscape and architectural solutions that are “Made in Caledon”. Delivering sustainable recommendations for rural and urban areas of the Town, the guidelines aim to enhance the natural environment, while accommodating future development and design trends. 

The guidelines are carefully prepared to assist and inform various groups, including Council, staff, the development community, external agencies and the public. Its scope features four parts, focused on sustainability and Caledon as a “Community of Communities”: 

  1. Town-wide Design
  2. Urban Design
  3. Rural Design
  4. Area Specific Design

Through Council endorsement, the updated TWDG will complement the new Official Plan and be used to direct development at all stages of the development approvals process. Help shape Caledon’s future and have your say today.
