Chinguacousy Road Class Environmental Assessment Study from Mayfield Road to Old School Road

The Study

The Town of Caledon has completed a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Class EA) for improvements to Chinguacousy Road between Mayfield Road and Old School Road. In addressing the need to reconstruct the road, the study recommended several improvements to intersections including a new traffic signal at Tim Manley, improved pedestrian and cyclist amenities including a new multi-use path and widening the road from two to four lanes. The Study was conducted in compliance with Schedule ‘C’ of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (Municipal Engineers Association, as amended in 2015), which is approved under the Ontario Environmental Assessment Act.

Environmental Study Report (ESR) Review Period

An ESR has been prepared to document the planning and decision-making process for this study. By this Notice, the ESR is being placed on the public record for a 30-day review period from November 29, 2024, to December 28, 2024. The ESR is available for review through the Town of Caledon website at: https://www.caledon.ca/en/government/chinguacousy-road-improvements-class-environmental-assessment.aspx

In addition, a request may be made to the Ministry of Environment, Conservation and Parks for an order requiring a higher level of study, or that conditions may be imposed, only on the grounds that the requested order may prevent, mitigate or remedy adverse impacts on constitutionally protected Aboriginal and treaty rights. Request on other grounds will not be considered. Requests should include the requesters contact information and full name for the ministry.
