Planning and Development Committee Meeting for 12 development applications
April 22, 2024 (CALEDON, ON) – A public meeting is being held for 12 proposed Zoning By-law Amendments at the Planning and Development Committee meeting (PDC) on Thursday, April 25. Following PDC, the vote on the 12 by-laws will be at the Council Meeting on Tuesday, April 30.
The Town of Caledon is offering a hybrid meeting model for the public to provide a delegation in-person or virtually. Residents can watch the meeting live on the Town’s website, or attend in-person. Priority seating will be given to those who have registered to speak or have accessibility considerations. Residents wishing to delegate or speak at the meeting are encouraged to register. For details on how to participate and register, please refer to the Public Meeting process available on the Town of Caledon website.
Public speakers and written submissions must relate to the agenda items and remain within the scope of the meeting. The April 25 PDC meeting is an opportunity to provide comment on the planning applications. Resident questions may be asked but Council or staff are not obligated to respond. Rules of conduct for Council and Committee Meetings are outlined in the Town’s Procedural By-law (section 6.5).
The April 25 PDC meeting agenda will not be updated through an addendum to include those who registered to speak. All registered speakers will be called to speak, followed by an opportunity for those who did not register to speak after the registered speakers. The meeting will provide the opportunity to comment on all 12 Zoning By-Law Amendments collectively first, followed by the opportunity to speak to each individual Zoning By-law Amendment on their own. Any verbal comments made during the meeting will be included as a part of the meeting minutes. Both the meeting minutes capturing the verbal comments and the received written comments will be included on the April 30 Council Agenda for Council’s consideration in their vote.
