Town of Caledon lifts Open Air Fire Ban

June 12, 2023 (CALEDON, ON) – Effective immediately, the Town of Caledon has lifted the open air fire ban that was declared on Friday, June 2, 2023. As a result, all agricultural, open air and recreational fires are allowed in Caledon, as defined in By-law 2016-092 - Open Air, Recreational and Agricultural, with the proper burn permit.

The current Fire Hazard Rating is set to “Low”.

Caledon Fire and Emergency Services reminds residents that when burning at home to always:

  • Obtain the appropriate burn permit;
  • Check the Fire Hazard Rating; and
  • Burn safely.
