Why you should consider pet adoption
Adopting a pet has many advantages:
- You're helping an abandoned animal find a forever home
- We offer low adoption fees
- You can get a pet that is already spayed or neutered
- Our pets will already have a microchip identification
Adoption process
All adoptions are by appointment only. If you see a pet on our website that you would be interested in adopting, please call the shelter at 905.584.2272 x 4698 and staff will be happy to speak with you further about our adoption process and answer any questions you may have.
Adopting a cat |
If you are interested in a particular cat that you've seen online, call us for more information. We can help you find a cat that matches your lifestyle and personality. Please note, we have an application process for all cat adoptions. FeesThe following fees apply to cat adoptions:
All adoption fees are subject to HST. Your new cat is entitled to receive a free medical exam and 10% off vaccines within 14 days of adoption at participating veterinary clinics. Barn cat adoption programIf you have a barn or outdoor structure and want a cat to help control rodent populations, you can adopt a barn cat. Cats available through the barn cat adoption program aren't considered suitable for adoption in a home environment due to behaviour or lack of socialization. Please complete and submit an online application. |
Adopting a dog |
If you are interested in a particular dog that you've seen online, call us for more information. We can help you find a dog that matches your lifestyle and personality. Please note, we have an application process for all dog adoptions. FeesThe following fees apply to dog adoptions:

Other pet adoptions |
