Motor vehicle collisions

If anyone has been injured, call 9-1-1 right away.

If nobody is injured and you can still drive your vehicle, move it to a safe place. You should drive it to a parking lot or side street.

Call 1-888-310-1122 to dispatch an officer once your vehicle is safely out of the way of traffic. Make sure that you stay safe after a collision and minimize any further risk to yourself and others.

We don't recommend just exchanging information with the other driver involved without first contacting police. This can cause problems if your insurance company asks for more information.

Home break-ins and robberies

Never enter your home if you believe that a stranger is still inside. Call 9-1-1 right way and wait for officers to arrive.

If you are sure that nobody is inside, you can call 1-888-310-1122 to report the incident.

While waiting for the officers to attend please do not touch anything. The suspect or suspects may have touched objects in your home. Please provide the serial numbers of any stolen items if possible. This helps officers with their investigation.

After the incident, and when you feel comfortable, consider telling your neighbours about what happened. This could prevent a future break-in in your neighbourhood.
